Greetings All.

As you are aware, contact tracing of the cluster of COVID-19 identified in the Northern Metropolitan area has shown a wide exposure across the metropolitan Adelaide region.  As we have learnt this year, COVID-19 is capable of spreading quickly and therefore we all need to be extra vigilant in the current situation.

All Metropolitan branches will operate at Level 2 of the response plan until further notice.

We are continually monitoring the situation and will respond to Government advice.  Yesterday the State Government gave to following advice for all South Australians.

  • Vulnerable people are encouraged to stay home and not have visitors
  • Unnecessary travel is discouraged
  • Masks should be worn in cases where people can’t socially distance. Eg. Public transport
  • Work from home where possible.

For MoWSA staff and Volunteers this means:

  1. Stay at home if you are unwell.  If you have flu like symptoms get tested.
  2. Maintain good personal hygiene habits.  This is Regular washing of hands and use hand sanitiser during deliveries.  If you cough, cough into elbow.
  3. Observe social distancing
    • Wearing of masks, while not mandatory, is advised when you cannot confidently maintain a 1.5 m social distance.  Masks have been distributed to all branches (country branches should have the masks by the end of the week).
    • Only two deliverers per vehicle.  Persons from same household can sit in front without wearing masks.  Persons from different households should either have the deliverer in the back seat, or both wear masks in the car.

Be vigilant in looking after your own health and that of others.

If you consider your health places you at risk and vulnerable to greater risk from the COVID-19 virus, we ask you to self-assess, and enact your personal COVID plan.  If you decide that it is best for you to temporarily stop volunteering, please let us know as soon as possible, and we make arrangements for your temporary cover.

We will keep everyone updated and meanwhile please follow all requirements and be mindful of any flu like symptoms you or your family may experience.   Please continue to be responsible and look out for each other as well as our customers.
